Hi! My name is Kasey Bates. I was born and raised in Douglasville, GA. I became a nurse in 2014. I received my associates degree in nursing from West Georgia Technical College. I then went on to obtain my bachelor’s of science in nursing from Columbus State University. I spent about 8 years of my career as an emergency department nurse. I loved the ED and the excitement it brought. I worked night shift pretty much the entire time I worked in the ED. I have 3 children and quickly realized I wanted to be home with them and my husband more than the ED was allowing me. Then, I made the drastic change to hospice nursing. I fell in love! I have been in hospice for several years now and it has been the most rewarding job I have ever had. I have been in and out of countless homes, in-patient units, facilities, and personal care homes. I quickly learned that the need for smaller, intimate homes/facilites is growing and there are not enough people willing to open them. I immediately knew that this is what I wanted to do. We live in an aging community and our elders deserve the best care and love possible. So, after many months of prayer and family discussions, I decided to take the first step. I feel as though God has led me on this path and opened doors I didn’t even know existed so that I can open my home to the people who deserve it most. I am thrilled that God has placed this on my heart and made it possible. I cannot wait to serve this community and share my home, love, and family.
